The Little Gods that hide in the crowded places of the world are myriad and their powers bubble, rise, and burst as favor and status waxes and wanes among their followers. They are just as important to the Major Deities, but their followers are the common folk, the needy, and the disenfranchised.

Kobolds Are More than Early-Game Punching Bags. A Look at What Makes Kobolds Unique and Fun Packed into One Page (One Page Lore)

This is an excerpt from One Page Lore: Fantasy Folk, which covers 20 folk besides kobolds. It’s in the wild now, and there’s 3 ways to get it.

Whether you love them or loath them, someone at the table is trying to dunk on kobolds. They’re often used as low-level fodder, but they’re way more unique and fun than that. They’re tiny, distant relatives to dragons, and they have many of the same features and abilities as dragons, though to a far lesser extent. Their dragon-like form also grants them features even dragonborn lack.

More Than Pirates and Beach Babes. Merfolk: Everything You Need to Know in One Page (One Page Lore)

This is one entry from One Page Lore: Fantasy Folk, which provides one page breakdowns for 21 different folk, highlighting what makes them unique. It releases June 8th, and is 50% for those interested. https://rexiconjesse.itch.io/one-page-lore-fantasy-folk. If you’re an essential or frontline worker of any kind, send me a DM and I’ll email you a copy on release day for free. My way to say thanks.

Merfolk don’t just live in the depths of the oceans and vacation on the beach. As amphibious folk with a innate talent for commanding water, they live in and around rivers, caves, and underground lakes within deep dungeons. Communities that live in landlocked lakes often have a network of underground waterways that connects to distant bodies of water, such as other lakes, rivers, or even the ocean.

I love when the animal form of shapeshifting characters rely on cunning and cleverness instead of power. Foxes, cats, possums, pangolins. Those are most fun shapeshifting forms.

Orcs are More than Beefcakes with an Axe: One Page Lore: Orcs

This is an excerpt from One Page Lore: Fantasy Folk. Orcs and details on 20 other fantasy folk (including halflings, gnomes, lizardfolk, and more) each have their own one-page entry. You can purchase it at rexiconjesse.itch.io/one-page-lore-fantasy-folk.

Orcs are way more interesting than just being total beefcakes. I don’t see much lore about them going into what it would mean to be so naturally strong or how they differ from other folk on a biological level. They don’t have to be warlike or tribal to stand out. Orcs can exist in a variety of ways. They have their own unique abilities and drawbacks.
